GALLERY - Examples of Lynne Anderson's Raku

RAKU vase in blue copper metallic glazes
RAKU VASES are all wheel thrown by raku artist Lynne Anderson. Lynne works with a clay body which is especially formulated to withstand the thermal shock of the raku process (see about raku for more info).

RAKU POTTERY, hand thrown by raku artist Lynne Anderson, all have individual shapes and coloration. Lynne makes small, medium and large varieties and delights in working with the clay so that each one develops its own personality. In addition, Lynne also mixes all of her own raku glazes.

All raku remains porous (see about raku for more info) and is for decorative purposes however, many of my customers utilize some raku pottery and vases for holding fresh cut flowers by inserting a plastic liner inside (fast food drink cups work great!).

Raku Sculpture Vessels
RAKU SCULPTURE VESSELS  are a raku art form that Lynne considers her "signature pieces". Each raku vessel is completely hand formed using the slab construction method and, while they are similar, none are ever identical. Lynne holds a visual artist's copyright on this form due to its unique nature, so along with her signature, each is also inscribed with the copyright symbol.

Raku sculpture vessels are beautiful on their own as sculpture and they are also lovely when used in combination with dried floral. (click "For Your Info" to see pic)

Also included here, you'll find Lynne's raku LAMPS.

RAKU WALL ART & CLOCKS by ceramic artist Lynne Anderson lend a most unique look to any home or office. All raku wall pieces are wired from the back to hang like paintings and have been created to stand out from the wall about 1/2-3/4" for an extra dynamic.

Lynne particularly enjoys combining contrasting elements in her work. Many times, the forms of the wall pieces have a rustic/ancient feel while being combined together with very contemporary images. Patrons have responded very favorably to these combinations and have purchased them for placement in a wide variety of home decor: from rustic log cabins to ultra contemporary.

Some of the Raku Wall Art are mixed media pieces containing multi textural fibers, metallic threads, copper wire accents, raw turquoise stones and more. This makes for a most unusual and unique decorator item!
