Arabian Horse Raku Lamp with Copper Shade

Unique and beautiful, this raku lamp measures approximately 20 3/4" H (with shade) X 5 3/4" wide (lamp base). The lamp base was thrown on the potter's wheel and it is accented with a hand sculpted high action horse on the front. Lynne spends considerable time in the hand sculpting phase, then makes her own plaster mold of the sculpture so that it can serve multiple uses. The glossy glaze used on the lamp base has mostly copper coloration with some greens and other hues.
The lampshade is copper and is purchased by Lynne from an artist acquaintance and the process he uses on the shades produce just as "one of a kind" coloration as the raku process itself, which makes it a perfect fit for Lynne's lamps. The shade has pinholes and, when lit, casts a beautiful subtle light downward as well as an enchanting effect through the pinholes.
