There was a time when the oval, completed in many variations, you see at the right was the largest raku wall art piece I made measuring 27″ H X 13 1/2″ W. One summer while participating in several out of state Juried Fine Art Shows, I was approached by several different couples all which had this similar question: “We love your work, but have very large homes and your largest piece would be swallowed up by the size of our walls. Won’t you think about making some work that is for the larger home?” Think about it, I did and the following piece titled “Desert Prayer” was the first of its kind. It now graces the wall of a large lovely home on the Western Slope of Colorado! Following are other examples of Raku Wall Art I have made over the years.
One of my latest large raku wall pieces is this triptych which incorporates an oval in the middle. It is a mountain scene with evergreens and features a bald eagle. Since I love combining media, here you will see mixed fibers, bead work, copper wire spirals and metal feathers. This particular piece is still available for purchase at raku4u.etsy.com.
